How to find startups that just raised funding (2026)

2026-10-15 · updated 2026-10-15 · 11 min read · Adam Axelsson, founder of Revexa

To reach a company within days of a funding round, follow sources that publish rounds on announcement day, check fit, and write to the person who owns the plan the money is for, about that plan rather than the money. For European Series A rounds, the free Tech.eu Funding Explorer filters by stage and country, Crunchbase Pro adds saved searches with email alerts from $49 a month (billed annually, first year), and Dealroom starts at €12,600 a year. In the US, Form D filings on SEC EDGAR are free to search and due within 15 days of the first sale.

Checked on 15 October 2026. Revexa builds Leo, one of the tools below, and publishes one of the free lists below. Sources are grouped by type and listed alphabetically within each group.

How to find European companies that just raised a Series A

  1. Start free with the Tech.eu Funding Explorer. Open Rounds, set the stage to Series A, pick countries and sort by newest first. It holds 52,383 rounds at 38,824 companies, about 98.4% of them European, and the data is free under CC BY 4.0 through an API and an MCP server without a key (methodology, for AI). It is in beta and lists no alerts.
  2. Read the weekly round-ups. tech.eu's recap, published on Mondays in recent weeks, "tracked more than 70 tech funding deals worth over €818 million" in its 12 October edition (tech.eu). EU-Startups' weekly round-up is for CLUB members. Our weekly list keeps only companies that sell to businesses, with the source article on every row; week 42 was the first.
  3. Pay for alerts when volume matters. A saved search in Crunchbase Pro sends email alerts (Crunchbase), Dealroom offers daily alerts, and Sifted's Team Pro adds Deals Tracker alerts by "country, size, sector, stage, round" (Sifted).
  4. Confirm in a register. A UK company must return an allotment of shares "within one month" (Companies Act 2006, s. 555), and Companies House's free Follow service emails you when a filing is accepted (GOV.UK). In Sweden the board has six months to file a new share issue (Aktiebolagslagen 13:27).

How strong is funding as a buying signal?

Moderate: funding shows that a company can buy, not what it will buy. In Bloomberry's analysis of about 1 million software purchases from March to September 2025, startups that announced a round in 2025 made 25% more software purchases in the following six months than startups whose last round was earlier (2.5 against 2.0), using Crunchbase data on rounds from Pre-Seed to Series E. The author rated funding's predictive value "Medium", the same as hiring a VP, and found no software category that funded startups clearly favoured (Bloomberry). It is one vendor's correlation analysis, not a controlled study, with no published significance tests.

So use funding to rank companies that already fit, then look for a second signal that shows what the money is for, such as a job ad for the team you sell to (our judgement). In the same study, among companies with 200 to 1,000 employees, a 20% rise in job openings went with only 7% more purchases and a 20% rise in headcount with 38% more. More evidence: the B2B buying signals guide and the intent data guide.

How to reach a company within days of a funding round

When: days, not months

  • The window opens at the announcement. Bloomberry counted extra purchases over the six months after a round, so decisions can start soon after the news (our reading).
  • Buyers shortlist before they talk to sellers. In 6sense's 2025 study of nearly 4,000 B2B buyers, the winning vendor was on the day-one shortlist 95% of the time, and first contact came 61% of the way through the journey, down from 69% (6sense). It also found that SDR outreach "plays a minimal role" in when buyers make first contact, so an early message should make you known and useful before the shortlist forms, not force a meeting.
  • Everyone sees the same news. A month later you compete with every vendor that tracks funding (our judgement).
  • The money may be older than the news. A Form D is due within 15 days of the first sale, a UK allotment return within a month, and a Swedish board has six months, so check dates before you write "just raised".

We found no study that measures reply rates by days since a round, so treat any precise "best window" with caution.

Who: the person who owns the plan

Read the announcement for the use of funds and for who is quoted, then pick the person who owns that plan (our judgement):

  • Pre-seed and seed: usually a founder.
  • Series A: a founder plus the head of the function you sell to, often a new hire.
  • Series B and later: the function head; procurement tends to join later.

Names are in the press release, the investor's post, job ads and LinkedIn. In the US, a Form D includes "the names and addresses of the company's executive officers" (Investor.gov); in the UK, Companies House shows current officers for free.

What to say

Name the plan, offer one thing that helps with it and ask a small question. Fictional example, by email:

Subject: Your sales team in Germany

Hi Sara, your Series A announcement says the money will build a sales team in Germany next year. We help B2B companies set up their first sellers in a new market: territory plans, a German call script and the first 30 days. Would a one-page outline of how others structure that be useful before you hire?

Fictional example, LinkedIn note:

Hi Sara, saw the plan to build a German sales team. I work with B2B companies on that first hiring wave and would like to follow how it goes.

Neither mentions the amount or asks for a meeting yet (our judgement).

What to avoid

  • The congratulations email. "Congrats on the raise!" is what any vendor that tracks funding can send the same morning, and it says nothing about the plan.
  • Leading with the amount. "Now that you have €10 million" reads as a claim on their budget.
  • A demo request in the first message. First learn if the plan is a priority.
  • Five people, one text. Add a second person only with a different reason.
  • Rounds outside your fit. A raise does not make a company your customer.

Rules in Europe

A named work email address is personal data. Under GDPR, legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) can be a legal basis after a balancing test, and Article 14 requires you to inform the person "at the latest at the time of the first communication" (GDPR). In the UK you "can email or text any corporate body", but sole traders count as individuals (ICO). Germany's UWG §7 requires prior express consent for email advertising, with a narrow exception for existing customers (UWG). Sweden requires consent for email marketing to natural persons and an opt-out address in every message (SFS 2008:486). This is not legal advice; see our GDPR and B2B email guide.

Tools that act on a funding signal

You can build it yourself: Apollo lists funding rounds among its 65+ filters next to contacts and sequences (Apollo), and Clay's company news signals, from the Launch plan, can act on funding news (Clay). Leo by Revexa watches funding together with hiring, new executives and other signals, finds the person, drafts LinkedIn and email messages in your voice and, by default, waits for your approval before anything is sent; prices are in the table. Leo is the wrong choice if you want a database to export lists from, phone calls, or only funding alerts. More options: buying signal tools compared and our free signal data.

Common questions

How do I reach a company within days of them raising funding?

Follow sources that publish rounds on announcement day, check fit, and within the first week write to the person who owns the plan the money is for: name the plan, offer one relevant thing and ask a small question.

How do I find European companies that just raised a Series A?

Filter the free Tech.eu Funding Explorer by stage and country and sort by newest. For alerts, use a Crunchbase Pro saved search (from $49 a month billed annually in year one) or Dealroom (from €12,600 a year).

Is a funding round a good buying signal?

A moderate one. In Bloomberry's 2025 analysis, recently funded startups made 25% more software purchases over the following six months, but no software category stood out. Combine funding with fit and a second signal.

Where can I find recently funded startups for free?

The Tech.eu Funding Explorer, EU-Startups and TechCrunch news, Form D filings on SEC EDGAR, Companies House and Revexa's weekly list of B2B rounds.

How soon after a round should I reach out?

Within days, at most a couple of weeks, of the announcement (our judgement), and only with something specific to say about the plan.
