AI and buying signals

Best buying signal tools for B2B startups (2026): 15 compared

2026-10-15 · 10 min read · Adam Axelsson, founder of Revexa

The right buying signal tool depends on which signal you need. For visitors on your website, Leadfeeder has a free plan and keeps its data in the EU, while RB2B names individual US visitors. For third-party intent, 6sense and Demandbase suit enterprise budgets; for community and social engagement, Common Room pulls from 50+ sources at $2,500 a month billed annually. For job changes, UserGems tracks past champions who switch companies, and for an agent that acts on signals for you, Gojiberry and Leo by Revexa (ours) both cost $99 a month in the US.

Checked against each vendor's own pages on 15 October 2026. Revexa builds Leo, one of the tools below. Tools are grouped by the kind of signal they track and listed alphabetically within each group.

The five kinds of buying signals

A buying signal is an event suggesting a company's timing has changed (30 examples). One caveat: we found no independent controlled study of signal-based versus generic outreach, and most "lift" figures come from vendors.

Website visits. Identification is partial: Warmly's own docs give ID rates of about 60% for companies and 45% for contacts (Warmly help), and we found no independent test showing that identified visits predict purchases. A visitor who reaches out is different: firms that responded within an hour were nearly seven times as likely to qualify the lead as slower firms (HBR, 2011).

Third-party intent. Topic research on other websites, scored per company. Weak alone: we found no independent evidence that it predicts purchases by itself, and LinkedIn's B2B Institute estimates that "95% of your potential buyers aren't ready to buy today" (B2B Institute). Use it to rank accounts that already fit (intent data guide).

Social and community engagement. LinkedIn likes, comments and follows, plus community activity. Unproven alone: in a study of more than 14,000 people, liking a brand on Facebook did not change purchases (JMR, 2017), and a typical B2B purchase involves 13 internal stakeholders and nine external influencers (Forrester, 2026), so one like is one voice of many.

Job changes and new leaders. The clearest direction, though effect sizes come mostly from vendors. In 6sense's 2025 survey of about 4,000 buyers, 85% of successful purchases involved prior experience with the vendor, and 68% of buyers already knew a seller there (6sense). Companies that hired a VP made 28% more software purchases (Bloomberry).

Company events. In Bloomberry's correlation study of about a million software purchases in 2025, rising job postings meant only 7% more purchases ("might be too early of an indicator"), headcount growth 38%, a recent funding round 25%, a recent software purchase 38% and, among tech companies with 500 to 1,000 employees, an enterprise AI tool 46%; becoming SOC compliant, none. Live lists: funding rounds and startups hiring salespeople.

Website visitor identification

Leadfeeder (formerly Dealfront) identifies the companies behind anonymous visits and says it "processes and stores all data within the EU" (Leadfeeder). It suits European teams on a budget: Lite is free for the last 100 identified companies a month, and paid plans start at €79 a month billed annually (pricing). Limitation: it names companies, not the visitor.

RB2B identifies visitors at person level in the US and at company level globally, and sends names, LinkedIn profiles and emails to Slack, your CRM or Clay (RB2B). It suits US-focused teams with someone to follow up. Limitation: "Person-Level ID is US-only".

Warmly adds job-change, hiring and funding signals to visitor identification and acts with an AI chatbot, an AI call agent and outbound (pricing). It suits funded teams with mostly US traffic, from $10,000 a year billed annually or $4,875 a quarter. Limitation: "no personal-level anonymization in Europe" (Warmly help).

Koala is left out: Cursor acquired it in July 2025 and it announced a 30 September shutdown that year (TechCrunch, Koala).

Intent data and ABM platforms

6sense combines keyword intent, website de-anonymization, job changes, funding and technographics with predicted buying stages, and its AI Email Agents "generate, send, and reply to emails" (6sense). It suits enterprise revenue teams; Vendr (third-party) reports a median price of $62,220 a year. Limitation: every bundle routes to a demo (pricing).

Bombora sells Company Surge intent across 25,300+ topics from a co-op of publishers (Bombora). "Bombora is a data company, not a platform", so the data flows into your CRM and ad tools. Limitation: it never acts itself, so it suits teams with tools to act.

Demandbase offers company-level keyword intent, with intent strength and the number of people researching, plus technographics and company news (developer docs). It suits enterprise ABM teams that also buy B2B ads; Vendr (third-party) reports a median of $68,591 a year. Limitation: no free plan or trial.

Social and community signals

Common Room pulls signals from 50+ sources, including GitHub, Slack, Discord, Reddit, product data and website visits, and its RoomieAI agents draft outreach (integrations). It suits product-led and developer-focused companies with RevOps staff, at $2,500 a month billed annually for 5 seats (pricing). Limitation: no free plan, and de-anonymization is capped at 1,000 a month below Enterprise.

Teamfluence captures engagement with your own team on LinkedIn, such as profile visits, likes, comments and follows, and watches competitors, influencers and keywords (Teamfluence). It suits teams whose people post; it is based in Estonia. Limitation: "You decide how" to reach out.

Trigify is ending: for most customers, access, integrations and API stop at 11:59pm BST on 22 October 2026 (Trigify); see Trigify alternatives.

Job-change signals

UserGems tracks past champions and evaluators who change jobs, new hires at target accounts and promotions, plus intent, website visits, funding and hiring (signals). It suits companies with enough past customers to produce alumni. Limitation: sending still happens in your reps' own tools.

Signal-based outbound platforms

Amplemarket's Duo agent surfaces leads from job changes, website visits, social activity, hiring, funding and competitor reviews, then drafts a sequence for the rep to edit and send (Duo). It suits teams with several reps. Limitation: Startup is annual-only at $600 a month for 2 users (pricing).

Clay lets a builder create signal flows: job changes, news and social listening from Launch, web intent and webhooks from Growth, and its own email sending since 1 September 2026 (pricing). It suits teams with a GTM engineer: free plan, then $185 a month ($167 billed annually). Limitation: no per-message approval, and Launch has no CRM sync.

Unify tracks job changes, hiring, funding, tech stack and news, and runs sequences where you approve each person's AI-written drafts by default (pricing, docs). It suits small sales teams: free for up to 3 seats, Base $20 a seat a month. Limitation: website intent and automated signal plays need the custom, annual Business plan.

Agents that act on signals

Gojiberry reads your website to learn what you sell, finds leads from "15+ buying and social signals" such as competitor engagement, and contacts them on LinkedIn and email (Gojiberry). It suits founders: $99 a month for 2 agents, with a free trial. Limitation: its named signals are social, so it fits buyers active on LinkedIn.

Leo by Revexa (ours) reads your website to build an ideal customer profile and watches signals such as hiring, funding, new executives, companies' own posts and engagement with competitors' LinkedIn posts, plus Sweden's public job board, Platsbanken. It finds the right person and drafts LinkedIn and email outreach in your voice. It suits teams that want a person to approve: review mode is the default, approval also works in iMessage and Slack, and autonomy is opt-in per channel. $99 a month in the US and rest of world, €89 in Europe, 999 SEK in Sweden, excluding VAT, 7 days free. Limitation: someone must approve drafts until you switch on autonomy.

Valley finds prospects among LinkedIn post engagers, profile viewers and competitor post engagers, and from job changes, funding and hiring, then writes in your voice (Valley). It suits teams selling mainly on LinkedIn: $199 a seat a month, or $149 billed quarterly (pricing). Limitation: Starter covers LinkedIn only; email is an add-on.
