Artisan AI pricing 2026: what Ava costs and the contract

2026-10-15 · updated 2026-10-15 · 8 min read · Adam Axelsson, founder of Revexa

Artisan sells Ava, its AI BDR, on credits. Free includes 300 credits a month; Intern costs $250 a month billed annually or $280 monthly for 10K credits, about 500 leads contacted; Employee costs $600 or $660 for 25K credits, about 1,250 leads; Team, Scale and Enterprise are quoted. A founder on Intern pays $3,000 to $3,360 a year before mailboxes and phone numbers, which Artisan bills separately at prices it doesn't publish (our calculation). The traps: a campaign uses about 20 credits per lead and more with phone numbers, unused annual credits expire, and the terms make purchases non-refundable and renew them automatically.

Checked on 15 October 2026 against Artisan's pricing page, help center, terms and DPA. Prices are in US dollars, excluding tax. The pricing page opens on a tab without prices; the self-serve prices sit under Startups. Revexa builds Leo, one of the alternatives below.

What Artisan really costs: three examples

Our estimates, at list price, before tax, mailboxes and phone numbers.

A founder testing outbound. After Free and the 30-day trial (10K credits, no card), Intern costs $3,360 a year month to month or $3,000 billed annually: about $0.56 or $0.50 per lead. At three emails per lead, 500 leads a month means roughly 70 emails per working day, above the 50 a day Artisan recommends for a primary mailbox (mailbox docs), so budget for an extra mailbox.

Three reps who also call. Employee at 25K credits plus three dialer seats costs $885 a month ($10,620 a year), or $801 billed annually ($9,612 a year). If every lead needs a phone number (10 credits) on top of the usual 20, 25K credits reach about 830 leads a month instead of 1,250.

A team on Salesforce. Intern and Employee don't include Salesforce sync, so a Salesforce team lands on a quoted plan. Vendr's median Artisan contract is $30,000 a year, against $12,000 for the largest Employee step billed annually.

Hidden costs and terms

  • Sending infrastructure is extra. "Sending infrastructure like mailboxes and phone numbers is billed separately in dollars", and neither the pricing page nor the help center lists those prices.
  • Annual credits expire. Monthly plans carry unused credits "until the end of the following billing period"; on annual plans "any unused credits at the end of your term do not roll over".
  • Automatic renewal. The terms, updated 29 September 2026, renew each term "for additional successive terms of the same period" unless either party gives notice "at least 30 days prior", and "Artisan may adjust the Fees for the next Renewal Term upon notice at least 45 days prior."
  • No refunds. "All purchases are non-refundable and non-cancellable for convenience except as expressly stated in any Order Form", and "There are no refunds for partially used Services or unused credits." Downgrades apply only at the end of the billing cycle.
  • The trial stops campaigns. Without a card when the trial ends, the account drops to Free "and all campaigns will be paused".
  • You answer for what Ava sends. Ava is "Autonomous by default, adjustable by design", with approval as a per-campaign setting (settings), and the terms make it "your responsibility to review and approve the content generated by Artisan agents before it is sent to any recipient, where technically feasible". See approval, tool by tool.

Third-party price data

  • Vendr. Vendr puts the median Artisan contract at $30,000 a year, from $18,300 to $80,371 (checked 15 October 2026; no sample size or date shown). Its plan list still shows the older Accelerate, Supercharge and Blitzscale plans, so the data mostly predates Ava 2.0, launched on 26 May 2026 with credit-based pricing.
  • Wayback Machine. A capture from 10 July 2026 shows Intern at $250 with 12K credits and Employee at $600 with 30K credits and Salesforce sync. The same prices now buy about 17% fewer credits (our calculation), and the plan comparison shows Salesforce only on Enterprise.
  • Trustpilot. Trustpilot showed 4.1 from 42 reviews on 15 October 2026. A two-star review from 22 September 2026 says 40,000 credits reached "around 1,200 new prospects" rather than the "around 2,000" the reviewer was told, about 33 credits each (our calculation). One-star reviews from 16 June and 3 September 2026 complain about missing LinkedIn outreach.

Cheaper alternatives

Ordered by starting price: the lowest monthly US dollar price listed for the cheapest paid plan, whatever the billing term. Free plans don't count, and ties are alphabetical. AiSDR has no monthly fee, so it is placed by its lowest daily pace: 5 people a day at $1.50 is about $225 a month if it runs every day (our estimate). Prices checked on 15 October 2026.

  • Unify. $20 per seat a month billed monthly, with 800 credits per seat, AI copywriting and job change signals (pricing). Right if your reps run outreach themselves; wrong if you need signal-triggered automations or read-write CRM sync, which sit on the custom, annually billed Business plan.
  • Apollo. Basic costs $49 per seat a month billed annually or $65 monthly (our Apollo pricing guide). Right if you want data, sequences and a US dialer per seat; wrong if you send at volume, since Basic allows 250 emails a day from 1 mailbox per user.
  • Gojiberry. Pro costs $99 a month for 2 AI agents and up to 1,800 prospects contacted a month by email and social channels (Gojiberry). Right if your buyers are active on LinkedIn; wrong if your reps call, since Pro lists no dialer.
  • Leo by Revexa (ours). $99 a month in the US, €89 in Europe and 999 SEK in Sweden, excluding VAT, with 7 days free and no lock-in (pricing). Right if you want buying signals turned into LinkedIn and email drafts you approve; wrong if you need calls or a contact database to export.
  • AiSDR. "$1.50 per person contacted", charged daily, with no monthly fee (AiSDR). Right if you want email and LinkedIn with no contract; wrong at volume, where pay as you go costs three times Intern's $0.50 per lead (our calculation).

More prices: what 30 sales tools cost and 11x vs Artisan vs AiSDR.

Artisan in Europe: GDPR and where the data is

  • Location. The privacy policy, updated 12 October 2026, says "Our servers are located in the United States" and uses Standard Contractual Clauses for EEA, UK and Swiss data. The DPA lists the sub-processors in Artisan's trust center, which blocked our automated check.
  • Roles. For GDPR customers Artisan is the processor and you are the controller, responsible for a lawful basis, a Legitimate Interests Assessment and Article 13 and 14 notices. Artisan describes automated Article 14 disclosures and one-click unsubscribe as built in, and holds SOC 2 Type II.
  • Calling Europe. The dialer reaches the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Brazil, India, Israel, Japan and Australia; "Calls to countries outside this list won't connect", so the Nordics are out (dialer docs).
  • Your own outreach. EU prospects need your own lawful basis, usually legitimate interest under GDPR art. 6.1 f, and Germany's UWG §7 requires prior consent for advertising email. See our GDPR guide. This is not legal advice.
