Clay pricing 2026: plans, credits and what it really costs
2026-10-15 · updated 2026-10-15 · 7 min read · Adam Axelsson, founder of Revexa
Clay has four plans, priced per workspace with unlimited seats: Free, Launch at $185 a month ($167 billed annually), Growth at $495 ($446 billed annually) and Enterprise on a custom annual contract. A founder or small team on Launch pays $2,004 to $2,220 a year, but syncing with a CRM needs Growth at $5,352 to $5,940 a year (our estimate). The trap is the second meter: Clay's own docs say a fully enriched record typically costs 6 to 20 data credits, so Launch's 2,500 a month cover roughly 125 to 415 such records, and top-ups cost 30% more.
Checked on 15 October 2026 against Clay's own pricing page, docs and terms. Prices are in US dollars. Revexa builds Leo, one of the alternatives listed below.

Each paid plan is the sum of two meters you can raise separately. Launch billed monthly is $60 for 15,000 actions plus $125 for 2,500 data credits, and its data credits scale to 50,000 a month for $2,125. Clay says "Data Credits start at $0.05 each" and actions "start at less than $0.01 each".
Actions and data credits
- Actions count platform work: 1 per enrichment, AI run, CRM sync or exported record, and 1 per lead added to a campaign in Clay's own email Sequencer. Building lists, importing from your CRM and formulas use no actions. Actions "reset each billing cycle and don't roll over".
- Data credits buy data and AI from Clay's 150+ providers, from 0.5 to 10+ credits per data point. Clay's example: finding LinkedIn profiles and emails for 100 people costs 95 data credits. With your own API keys you skip data credits but still pay an action (actions and data credits).
- No result, no charge. "If an enrichment returns no result, you're not charged Data Credits or Actions."
What Clay really costs: three examples
Our estimates, at list price.
A founder. Launch costs $2,220 a year month to month or $2,004 billed annually. Finding emails and LinkedIn profiles for 1,000 people a month uses about 950 data credits, well inside 2,500. Fully enrich 500 people a month, phone numbers included, at 15 credits each (the middle of Clay's 6 to 20 range) and you need 7,500 credits: the 10,000-credit tier at $520 a month on Launch billed monthly, or about $325 a month of top-ups on top of $185.
A team of three. Seats are free, so three people pay the same as one. If Clay should keep HubSpot or Salesforce up to date, Growth costs $5,352 a year billed annually or $5,940 monthly. Sending 1,000 leads a month through Clay's Sequencer uses 1,000 of Growth's 40,000 monthly actions.
A team of ten. Growth with 100,000 actions and 20,000 data credits a month costs $1,330 a month billed monthly, or $14,364 a year billed annually. Above that, Enterprise is quoted on an annual contract.
Hidden costs and terms
- Top-ups cost 30% more. One-time and automatic top-ups "carry the same 30% premium", with at least 250 credits each, at most $1,000 per top-up and $5,000 in any rolling 7 days. Raising your data credit tier has no premium.
- Rollover is partial. On monthly plans unused data credits roll over up to 2x your monthly amount. On annual plans you can roll over 15% of your annual data credits "provided you renew on the same or a higher-tier plan". Actions never roll over.
- CRM sync needs Growth. Launch has no CRM integrations, HTTP API calls or webhooks, so a team that needs them pays $446 to $495 a month rather than $167 to $185.
- AI can be variable. Token-heavy models "have variable pricing based on actual token consumption", shown with a tilde (~) estimate before the run.
- Automatic renewal. Clay's terms, last updated 23 May 2024, say "Your contract will automatically renew at Clay's most-up-to-date-rates when your subscription ends", that you must keep a credit card on file, and that "all fees are non-refundable" except as set out in the agreement. You cancel in your account or by email.
- Trial. 14 days with 1,000 data credits, including CRM integrations and the Sequencer, but "Phone number enrichments aren't available during the trial period".
- Cancelling. The workspace drops to the Free plan, and Clay warns that "long-term retention isn't guaranteed after extended inactivity". It recommends downgrading instead.
Third-party price data
Vendr, which bases its figures on anonymized contract data, puts the median Clay buyer at $59,996 a year across 96 purchases, ranging from $16,500 to $170,000 (last updated February 2026). Even the low end is about three times Growth's list price billed annually, so Vendr's sample describes Enterprise-size contracts, not self-serve plans (our reading). The same page still describes Clay's old plans ("Free, Starter, Explorer, and Pro"), so use only its price figures.
Cheaper alternatives
Ordered by starting price: the lowest monthly US dollar price listed for the cheapest paid plan, whatever the billing term. Free plans don't count, and ties are alphabetical. None of these is a full data workshop like Clay; each is cheaper for one job Clay is often used for. Prices checked on 15 October 2026.
- Unify. $20 per seat a month, billed monthly, and free for up to 3 seats; Base adds job change and hiring signals and phone and email enrichment (pricing). Right if reps want signals, data and sequencing without building tables; wrong if you need website intent or signal-triggered automations, which sit on the custom, annually billed Business plan.
- Lusha. Starter costs $37.45 a month billed yearly or $49.90 monthly for 400 credits; an email costs 1 credit and a phone number 5 (pricing). Right if you mainly add emails and phone numbers to a list; wrong if you need data from many providers in one table.
- Apollo. Free plan; Basic costs $49 per seat a month billed annually or $65 monthly, with 2,500 credits per seat a month (pricing). Right if you want one database with sequences, a dialer and CRM integrations; wrong if you need per-row web research and custom workflows.
- Gojiberry. Pro costs $99 a month for 2 AI agents and up to 1,800 prospects contacted a month by email and social channels (gojiberry.ai). Right if you want an agent to find warm leads from signals and contact them; wrong if you want to build your own data flows.
- Leo by Revexa (ours). $99 a month in the US, €89 in Europe and 999 SEK in Sweden, excluding VAT, with 7 days free and no lock-in (pricing). Right if you want buying signals turned into LinkedIn and email drafts that you approve; wrong if you want to build your own data workflows or enrich your CRM in bulk.

Clay in Europe: GDPR and where the data is
- Location. Clay's privacy policy says "Our Services are hosted in the United States", and it names VeraSafe as its EU representative.
- Your role. For data from its third-party providers, Clay says it "acts as a data processor because it is acting according to the instruction of its customers" and "does not control the data supplied by the third party data providers". In GDPR terms that leaves your company as the controller of the contacts you enrich, responsible for the lawful basis and for informing them.
- Contract. Clay publishes a standard DPA with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers. A custom DPA is listed only on Enterprise.
- Marketing claim versus terms. The pricing page says "let us handle compliance with local laws"; the DPA is what sets out Clay's actual commitments. Our GDPR guide covers legitimate interest for B2B email. This is not legal advice.
Common questions
Is there a free Clay plan?
Yes. Free includes 500 actions and 100 data credits a month, unlimited seats and tables, and up to 200 rows per table, but no phone number enrichment.
What is the difference between actions and data credits?
Actions measure the work Clay does, such as 1 per enrichment, AI run or CRM sync. Data credits pay for the data itself from Clay's providers, from 0.5 to 10+ credits per data point. Most enrichments use both.
Can I pay for Clay monthly?
Yes. Launch ($185) and Growth ($495) can be paid monthly; annual billing saves 10% and grants all credits upfront. Enterprise requires an annual commitment.
Do Clay credits roll over?
Actions don't. Data credits do: up to 2x your monthly amount on monthly plans, and 15% of your annual credits on annual plans if you renew on the same or a higher plan.
Is Clay priced per seat?
No. Every plan includes unlimited seats, so the price depends on actions and data credits, not team size.
