Smartlead alternatives 2026: 10 tools compared by price

Teams look for Smartlead alternatives mainly over support, add-ons and channels: Trustpilot showed 2.9 from 141 reviews on 16 October 2026 (66 one-star), mailboxes, placement tests and dedicated servers cost extra and are "strictly non-refundable", and LinkedIn runs only through separate tools such as HeyReach. The closest like-for-like option is Instantly, from $37.60 a month billed yearly; Snov.io and Saleshandy include lead data from $29.25 and $34, and lemlist adds LinkedIn steps. For EU hosting, Woodpecker and lemlist say they use servers in France, though lemlist's DPA lists some US sub-processors; we found no independent test showing that any of these tools places more email in the inbox.
Checked on 16 October 2026 against each vendor's pricing, help, privacy and terms pages. Revexa builds Leo, one of the tools below, so read with that in mind.
The table is ordered by starting price: the lowest monthly US dollar price a buyer in the US sees for the cheapest paid plan, whatever the billing term, with yearly prices divided by 12. Free plans don't count, ties are alphabetical, and Smartlead is the last row.
Why teams look for Smartlead alternatives
From Smartlead's own pages and Trustpilot (plan by plan in Smartlead pricing 2026):
- Polarised reviews. Trustpilot showed a TrustScore of 2.9 from 141 reviews on 16 October 2026: 66 one-star and 63 five-star (Trustpilot).
- Add-ons add up. Mailboxes cost $3.99 to $9 a month each, placement tests from $49 a month and dedicated servers $39 each, and add-ons are "strictly non-refundable" (pricing, refund policy).
- Data costs extra on the cheaper plans. "Verified prospect emails are a $59 per month add-on on Base and Pro" (pricing file).
- Email only. LinkedIn runs through separate tools: Smartlead integrates with HeyReach and Aimfox and lists Expandi among its native connections (HeyReach, Aimfox, llms.txt).
- "Unlimited" has limits. The fair use policy applies "even if you have subscribed for an unlimited plan" (policy).
In Smartlead's favour: Base costs $39 a month, or $32.50 billed yearly, with unlimited email accounts; client workspaces cost $29 each from Pro; and new customers get "a 7-day refund guarantee from the date of payment".

The alternatives one by one
1. Woodpecker
A Polish cold email tool priced by prospects contacted each month, with unlimited mailboxes and users. Best for: careful, lower-volume sending. Wrong choice if: volume jumps: above your tier, campaigns stop sending to new prospects until you upgrade or the plan renews, since plans don't upgrade automatically. Price: 500 contacted prospects and 8,000 emails a month for $35 monthly or $280 a year, about $23 a month (our calculation) (pricing file).
2. Snov.io
Email finder, verifier and sender in one plan, with unlimited seats. Best for: teams that need prospect data with sending. Wrong choice if: you want LinkedIn included: slots cost $69 a month each. Price: Starter $39 a month or $29.25 billed annually, with 1,000 credits and 5,000 recipients (pricing).
3. Saleshandy
Smartlead Base's volume, 2,000 active prospects and 6,000 emails a month, plus 1,500 lead finder credits. Best for: one sender who wants data included. Wrong choice if: more than one person needs access: Starter has 1 user. Price: Starter $41 a month or $34 billed annually ($408 a year) (pricing).
4. Instantly
Unlimited email accounts and warmup, with leads on a separate Credits plan. Best for: one person sending from many inboxes. Wrong choice if: you run an agency: "Each workspace requires its own subscription" (help). Price: Growth $47 a month or $37.60 billed yearly, for 5,000 emails and 1,000 uploaded contacts (pricing, Instantly vs Smartlead).
5. Salesforge
Cold email with unlimited mailboxes and one LinkedIn sender on Pro. Best for: small teams that want EU database servers. Wrong choice if: several people need it: Pro has 1 user, and Growth costs $96 a month ($80 annually). Price: Pro $48 a month or $40 billed annually, with 1,000 active contacts and 5,000 emails (pricing).
6. Apollo
A contact database with sequences and a dialer. Best for: teams short of data. Wrong choice if: you send at volume: Free and Basic send 250 emails a day from 1 mailbox per user. Price: free plan; Basic $49 per seat a month billed annually or $65 monthly (pricing).
7. QuickMail
Unlimited email senders, LinkedIn accounts and users, even on Starter. Best for: small agencies sharing one account. Wrong choice if: you want annual billing or more than 1,000 uploaded contacts on Starter. Price: Starter $49 a month with 5,000 emails; the 14-day trial needs a card, and QuickMail says "We won't charge your card" when it ends (pricing).
8. Reply.io
Email, LinkedIn, calls, SMS and WhatsApp, plus an AI agent, Jason AI, from $500 a month billed annually. Best for: every channel per seat. Wrong choice if: you want LinkedIn on the cheap plan: on Email Volume it costs $69 a month per account. Price: Email Volume $49 per user a month billed annually or $59 monthly (pricing).
9. lemlist
Email, plus LinkedIn, calls and SMS on Multichannel. Best for: teams adding LinkedIn steps. Wrong choice if: LinkedIn must run without your browser: its Chrome extension "is required for LinkedIn automation" (help). Price: Email $69 a month or $55 billed yearly, 50,000 emails with unlimited users; Multichannel $109 per user or $87 yearly (pricing).
10. Leo by Revexa (ours)
A buying-signal agent: it builds your ideal customer profile from your website, watches signals such as hiring, funding and engagement with competitors' LinkedIn posts, and drafts LinkedIn messages and emails you approve by default, from your own profile and mailbox. Best for: small B2B teams without a list. Wrong choice if: you already have lists and want to send thousands of cold emails a month across many mailboxes, or need a lead database, calls or SMS. Price: $99 a month in the US, €89 in Europe, 999 SEK in Sweden, excluding VAT; 7 days free, no lock-in (pricing).
Deliverability: what is published and what is not
Every tool here sells warmup, many mailboxes or placement tests, but we found no deliverability test by a tester without a stake. An unconfirmed split that circulates, Smartlead 88%, Instantly 81% and lemlist 74% in the inbox, comes from an August 2026 post by a cold email agency that names neither the tester nor the test dates (post, Instantly vs Smartlead). The rules that decide placement belong to the mailbox providers: Google asks senders to "Keep spam rates reported in Postmaster Tools below 0.10% and avoid ever reaching a spam rate of 0.30% or higher", and to "Regularly monitor your domain's spam rate" (Google). The rate belongs to your domain, so a new tool doesn't reset it.
Smartlead alternatives in Europe: where the data is
From the vendors' own documents:
- Servers in the EU. lemlist says all data is stored "on servers located exclusively in France and hosted by OVH" (help center), though its DPA (v1.4.2) lists some US sub-processors, such as Intercom and optional AI providers (DPA). Woodpecker hosts on OVH servers in France, assigns EU customers "to European data storage centers" and uses proxy servers in Canada, the US and Australia (security). Salesforge says its database servers are "located exclusively within the European Union", though data "could be transferred outside the European Union" (privacy).
- The US. Instantly "generally" stores data there, Reply.io processes there "as a general rule", Apollo hosts there, and QuickMail, a Swiss company, keeps its servers there (Instantly, Reply.io, Apollo, QuickMail).
- Region not stated. Snov.io, a New York company, names AWS and MongoDB and may transfer data to countries such as Ukraine, China and Brazil (privacy); Saleshandy lists AWS without a region (legal).
- Smartlead itself. 521 Products Pty Ltd, "an Australian registered business", keeps EU and UK data in data centres "inside and outside the European Union and the UK" (DPA).
- Your duties. You choose who gets emailed, so you need a lawful basis, usually legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6.1 f), and Germany's UWG §7 requires prior consent for advertising email (cold email laws by country). This is not legal advice.

Common questions
What is the best alternative to Smartlead?
It depends on why you leave. For the same job, Instantly; for lead data included, Saleshandy or Snov.io; for LinkedIn steps, lemlist or Reply.io; for servers in the EU, Woodpecker, lemlist or Salesforge. No independent test shows any of them delivering better.
What is the cheapest Smartlead alternative?
Woodpecker: $280 a year for 500 contacted prospects a month, about $23 a month (our calculation), or $35 monthly. Snov.io Starter costs $29.25 a month billed annually and Saleshandy $34, both with lead data.
Is Instantly better than Smartlead?
No independent test shows it; a cold email agency's August 2026 post put Smartlead at 88% inbox placement and Instantly at 81%, but the figures are unconfirmed: it names neither the tester nor the dates. Instantly Growth costs $47 a month for 5,000 emails and Smartlead Base $39 for 6,000. Smartlead suits agencies, with $29 client workspaces; Instantly needs one subscription per workspace.
Does Smartlead store data in the EU?
Partly. Its DPA says EU and UK data sits in data centres "inside and outside the European Union and the UK", and Smartlead is an Australian company. lemlist and Woodpecker say they host on OVH servers in France, though lemlist's DPA lists some US sub-processors.
Does Smartlead do LinkedIn outreach?
Not on its own: LinkedIn steps come through integrations with tools such as HeyReach or Aimfox. lemlist and Reply.io include it on their Multichannel plans, Salesforge and QuickMail on their entry plans, and Woodpecker and Snov.io sell it as an add-on.
