Smartlead pricing 2026: every plan, add-ons and real cost

Smartlead has four plans, priced by sending volume rather than seats or mailboxes: Base at $39 a month ($32.50 billed yearly), Pro at $94 ($78.30), Unlimited Smart at $174 ($144.50) and Unlimited Prime at $379 ($314.60). One founder pays $390 to $468 a year for Base, or $1,098 to $1,176 with the $59 a month add-on for verified prospect emails (our estimate). The extra costs sit in add-ons such as mailboxes, servers and placement tests, which are never refunded, and "unlimited" comes with a fair use policy.

Two counters apply. "A lead credit is one unique prospect email address stored in your account", and "An email credit is one individual email sent". Stored contacts don't reset each month, while sends do (help center).

What Smartlead really costs: three examples
Our estimates, at list price and before tax.
A founder. Base costs $390 a year billed yearly or $468 month to month. Three Google mailboxes bought through Smartlead add $162 a year and three domains $39, so the total is $591 to $669 a year, or $1,299 to $1,377 with verified prospect emails.
An agency with five clients. Pro plus five client workspaces costs $239 a month, $2,868 a year. Unlimited Prime includes three workspaces; with two more it costs $437 a month.
High volume. Sending 150,000 emails a month needs Unlimited Smart: $1,734 a year billed yearly or $2,088 month to month. Adding the cheapest placement tests at $49 a month brings that to $2,322 to $2,676.
Hidden costs and terms
- "Unlimited" has limits. The fair use policy, updated 1 February 2026, applies "even if you have subscribed for an unlimited plan" and lists mailbox caps of 100, 300 and 800 for plans it calls Basic, Popular and Pro.
- Refunds are narrow. The terms, updated 19 May 2026, say "we do not provide refunds or credits should you cancel the Service during its current Subscription Period". The refund policy adds "a 7-day refund guarantee from the date of payment" for new customers, and a refund within 3 days of a renewal if you haven't used the product. Listed add-ons, such as mailboxes, servers and placement tests, are "strictly non-refundable".
- Automatic renewal. Each subscription "will automatically renew for another Subscription Period", and Smartlead says it emails a reminder first. A price rise takes effect "30 days after such notice is given", never during the first term, and Smartlead may pass on price rises from its third-party providers on 30 days' notice.
- Mailboxes. A mailbox deleted mid-month is billed for the whole month, and a domain is "a one-time yearly payment for a fixed 1-year term with no renewal".
- Cancelling. Base and Pro cancel in Settings; custom plans go through support (cancel). After unsubscribing, data enters deletion after a two-week grace period (data).
Third-party price data
- Vendr had no Smartlead page on 15 October 2026.
- PricingSaaS. PricingSaaS logged three changes in 2026: API and webhooks added to Pro and above but not Base (2 July), the 50% first-month promotion (28 September) and private OAuth added to Unlimited Smart (5 October).
- Trustpilot. Trustpilot showed 2.9 from 141 reviews on 15 October 2026: 66 one-star and 63 five-star. Recent one-star reviews mention support, billing and trouble cancelling, while five-star reviews praise easy setup and mailbox management.
Cheaper alternatives
Ordered by starting price: the lowest monthly US dollar price listed for the cheapest paid plan, whatever the billing term. Free plans don't count, and ties are alphabetical. Smartlead Base is already one of the cheapest senders, so each tool below is cheaper for one specific job. Prices checked on 15 October 2026.
- Snov.io. Starter costs $29.25 a month billed annually or $39 monthly, with 1,000 credits, 5,000 recipients, unlimited emails and unlimited seats (pricing). Right if you want email finding and sending in one plan; wrong if you contact more than 5,000 new people a month.
- Saleshandy. Starter costs $34 a month billed annually ($408 a year) or $41 monthly: 2,000 active prospects and 6,000 emails a month, like Smartlead Base, plus 1,500 lead finder credits (pricing). Right if you want Base's volume with data included; wrong if more than one person needs access, since Starter has 1 user.
- Apollo. Basic costs $49 per seat a month billed annually or $65 monthly, with 2,500 credits per seat a month for contact data plus sequences (pricing). Right for a small team that needs a database and sequences; wrong for volume, since Basic sends 250 emails a day from 1 mailbox per user.
- lemlist. The Email plan costs $55 a month billed yearly or $69 monthly, with 50,000 emails a month and unlimited users (pricing). Right if you send up to 50,000 emails a month, which on Smartlead needs Pro; wrong if you need data, a $16 to $20 a month add-on for 2,000 credits.
- Leo by Revexa (ours). $99 a month in the US, €89 in Europe and 999 SEK in Sweden, excluding VAT, with 7 days free and no lock-in (pricing). Right if you want companies with buying signals found and LinkedIn and email drafts written for you to approve; wrong if you already have lists and want a bulk sender for them across many mailboxes.

Smartlead in Europe: GDPR and where the data is
- Company. Smartlead is run by 521 Products Pty Ltd, "an Australian registered business" (privacy policy), and its terms follow the law of New South Wales.
- Location. The DPA, updated 18 September 2026, says "Smartlead stores and processes EU and UK Data" in "data centres located inside and outside the European Union and the UK". Other data may be processed in Australia, Singapore, India, Japan, the US, Canada, Germany, Ireland and Sweden; AWS hosts the service, and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum apply.
- Roles. Smartlead acts as processor for your campaigns and as controller for warm-up. Its SmartProspect database holds "Prospects who are stored as contact details for B2B marketing, and that are sold to our Clients", on the basis of legitimate interests. Prighter Group is its EU and UK representative.
- Your sending. Cold email rules are national: Germany's UWG §7 requires prior consent, and other countries differ (cold email laws by country). This is not legal advice.
