Instantly alternatives 2026: from cold volume to buy-ready companies
2026-09-08 · 8 min read · Adam Axelsson, founder of Revexa
The best Instantly alternatives in 2026 depend on what you are missing. Instantly is an email engine: it sends cold email at volume with warmup and rotation across sender inboxes, but you supply the list and the timing yourself. If you want replies instead of sends, the alternatives are an AI GTM agent like Leo (buying signals, LinkedIn and email in your voice), another email engine like Smartlead or lemlist, or a data source like Apollo.
Recognise this Tuesday? The campaign went out to the whole list. The report shows green numbers: delivered, opened. The inbox shows two replies, and one of them says "remove me". The engine did its job. The problem sat before the engine: wrong companies, wrong moment, no reason to write right now.
Honest disclosure: Revexa builds Leo, so read with that in mind. Prices and facts about Instantly and the other tools come from their own sites. Where a price is not public, we say so.
What Instantly is good at
Instantly calls itself a "sales engagement and lead intelligence" platform and promises automated outreach, a B2B lead database, deliverability tools and an AI-powered CRM, per their site. The core is the email engine: unlimited sender accounts, built-in warmup and rotation across inboxes so the volume spreads.
- Price per their site: Outreach Growth $47 per month (5,000 emails, 1,000 contacts, unlimited accounts with warmup). Light Speed $358 per month for 500,000 emails. Bundles with database credits from $94 (Starter) to $555 (Agency) per month. Free trial with no card, no free tier.
- Motion: self-serve, running the same day.
- The strength: price per email sent. Agencies running outbound for many clients at once pick Instantly for a reason.
It is a good engine. The question is whether an engine is what you need.
Why teams look for alternatives
The reasons are structural, not bugs.
Volume is not replies. Instantly counts sends. Replies are decided by the list, the timing and the personalisation, in that order. An average cold campaign lands around 3 percent replies, and a bought list with a generic template sits under 1 percent. No engine in the world fixes a list that is wrong.
You bring the list. The optional lead database answers "who exists", not "who is ready to buy right now". No hiring, no funding, no tech switch. You pick the companies, you guess the moment.
Email is the only channel. We could not verify any LinkedIn or phone channel on their site. In the Nordics, LinkedIn is often the channel where the decision-maker actually replies.
Volume is the risk. Google starts acting against the whole domain at around 0.3 percent complaints, and a sustainable ceiling sits at 20 to 40 outreach emails per address per day. Instantly solves that with more inboxes and more domains. It works, but it is a maintenance job that needs someone who knows deliverability and tends to it every week.
And the toolbox nobody has time to tend becomes a monthly cost with no sends.
7 alternatives to Instantly
1. Leo (Revexa)
Our own, so weigh it. Leo is an AI GTM agent: he reads your website, builds the ideal customer profile and finds companies on real buying signals like hiring, funding and tech switches, plus engagement on LinkedIn. Then he reaches out on LinkedIn and email in your voice, handles the replies, books the meeting and sends a Lead Brief ahead of it. Review mode is the default: Leo does the work, you approve. Data is stored in the EU, with some processing by sub-processors in the US under SCC. 999 SEK, €89 or $99 per month excl. VAT, 7 days free, no commitment.
2. Smartlead
Closest to Instantly in function. Smartlead calls itself "cold email software for sales teams that run outbound at scale" per their site. Base $39, Pro $94, Unlimited Smart $174 and Unlimited Prime $379 per month, 17 percent less on annual. Email plus an optional dialer. Switch here if you want the same job done on different infrastructure. The list problem comes along.
3. lemlist
Multichannel in one flow: email, LinkedIn, calls, WhatsApp and SMS per their site. Email $69 per month ($55 on annual), Multichannel $109 per user per month ($87 on annual). 14-day free trial. Suits teams that want LinkedIn steps in their sequences but still build the lists themselves.
4. Apollo
Database plus sequences. A free tier exists, then Basic $49, Professional $79 and Organization $119 per user per month on annual (somewhat higher monthly per external pricing guides). Apollo solves "who exists" better than Instantly, but not "who is ready". Check coverage for your Nordic segments before you pay.
5. Amplemarket
All-in-one with "Human + AI" as the pitch and an AI agent, Duo, that helps reps find and connect with their next customer per their site. Startup $600 per month on an annual term, Growth and Elite on quote. Email, LinkedIn and phone. One price class up, for teams with several reps that want one platform.
6. Gojiberry
AI GTM agents from Y Combinator's Spring 2026 batch. Finds leads through engagement on LinkedIn and delivers them every week. Price per external reviews, since their site blocked our fetch: Pro $99 per month, 2 agents, up to 1,800 prospects per month, LinkedIn and email. Good for solo founders whose ICP lives on LinkedIn. More in Gojiberry alternatives.
7. Reply.io

When you should stay in Instantly
Stay if three things are true:
- You have your own verified list and a real reason to write to it.
- You have someone who knows deliverability and tends to domains, warmup and bounces every week.
- Email is the channel where your ICP actually replies.
Agencies sending for many clients often meet all three. Then Instantly is hard to beat for the price.
If you lack the list, the signal or the operator, nothing is wrong with Instantly. It is the wrong category. You do not need a better engine, you need someone who picks the companies and the moment. That is what AI GTM is about, and the whole field is compared in AI GTM tools compared 2026.

Common questions
Is Leo an Instantly alternative?
Yes, if the goal is replies and meetings from buy-ready companies. No, if you want to send volume from your own list, then Smartlead and lemlist sit closer.
Can we run Instantly and Leo in parallel?
Yes. Let Instantly run campaigns against a finished list and let Leo chase the signals. Keep cold volume on a separate domain so Leo's personal emails do not inherit the reputation.
Which Instantly alternative is cheapest?
Smartlead Base at $39 per month, and Apollo has a free tier. But the cheapest license is rarely the cheapest meeting. Count the time of whoever builds the lists and tends the domains.
Does domain reputation follow us when we switch tools?
Yes, reputation sits on the domain, not in the tool. Lower volume and more replies rebuild it, expect one to three months.
