AI GTM and go-to-market

6sense vs Demandbase 2026: which fits a mid-market team?

2026-10-16 · updated 2026-10-16 · 8 min read · Adam Axelsson, founder of Revexa

Both are enterprise ABM platforms without public prices: Vendr's median buyer pays $62,220 a year for 6sense and $68,591 for Demandbase, and the smallest contracts in its data are $11,234 and $24,000. For a mid-market team, pick 6sense if sales intelligence and predictive scoring for complex, sales-led deals come first (6sense itself says it fits deals with "ACV above $50K"), and pick Demandbase if B2B advertising is your main channel, since it runs its own demand-side platform for B2B ads. If your deals are small or your platform budget is under about $25,000 a year, neither is likely to pay off (our judgement).

Checked on 16 October 2026 against each vendor's pricing, support, legal and newsroom pages, plus Vendr and AWS Marketplace. Prices are in US dollars, excluding tax. Revexa builds Leo, one of the tools under "When neither fits", so read with that in mind.

What a mid-market team actually pays

Plans, credits and contract clauses are in 6sense pricing and Demandbase pricing, and 30 tools are compared in our pricing research.

  • 6sense. Its AWS offer works out to $50,000 a year for 5 licenses, about $833 per license a month (our calculation). Vendr says 6sense "typically charges separately for implementation services", at $10,000 to $50,000 or more, so the first year can reach $60,000 to $100,000 (our estimate).
  • Demandbase. Vendr puts onboarding "from a few thousand dollars to mid-five figures" and says "committed ad spend is separate from platform fees". Each extra user adds the flat per-user fee. The AWS offer of $215,000 is above Vendr's highest purchase, so it likely reflects a large setup (our reading).
  • People. Plan for an owner of audiences, scores and integrations. 6sense itself says the platform "requires proper implementation, sales and marketing alignment"; we expect the same of Demandbase (our judgement).

Where they really differ

Sales intelligence or advertising

6sense's pricing page sells Sales Intelligence: predictive scores, Sales Copilot, contact data and list building on credits, website visitor identification, job postings and third-party intent (6sense). Its own fit test says it makes sense when "Your deals are complex (60+ day cycles, multiple stakeholders, ACV above $50K)" and probably isn't right if "You're focused on SMB customers who buy quickly" (6sense, December 2025).

Demandbase says it has "the only demand side platform (DSP) built specifically for B2B advertising" (Demandbase) and offers advertising "as a starting place". It doesn't sell sales and marketing separately: "we don't split Demandbase into separate solutions" (pricing). Even 6sense's comparison page says "Staying with Demandbase makes sense if display advertising is your primary ABM channel", provided you also have staff for ongoing model management and current results meet your goals (6sense, March 2026).

AI and agents

  • 6sense lists Email Agents, Sales Copilot, RevvyAI and a new MCP server in its menu. Generating an email with its AI Writer costs one credit, "which comes with four regenerations" (credits).
  • Demandbase describes Agentbase as its "suite of autonomous AI agents" (Demandbase) and connects its data to AI tools through the Model Context Protocol. Mojo, launched on 15 September 2026, is "a separate product" that runs campaigns in tools such as LinkedIn Ads and Google Ads "while Demandbase remains optional" (Mojo); it costs $0, or $200 a month on Plus at an introductory price (Mojo pricing).

Independent tests

We found none. 6sense's comparison page says it "consistently beats Demandbase in head-to-head tests" without publishing a test, and Demandbase's comparison relies on G2 review scores. Both were named Leaders in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for ABM Platforms of 7 October 2026, for the sixth year in a row; 6sense says it "placed highest for its Ability to Execute" and Demandbase that it was "furthest for Completeness of Vision" (6sense, Demandbase). Both also say they were Leaders in the Forrester Wave for Revenue Marketing Platforms, Q1 2026. The reports are paywalled, so these are the vendors' accounts.

When to pick 6sense

  • Your sales cycle is long and sales-led, and you want account scores, intent and contacts in one tool.
  • About five people need licenses, the size of 6sense's public AWS offer.
  • You want contact data in the same tool: data credits unlock emails and phone numbers.
  • Wrong choice if you sell to SMBs who buy quickly, in 6sense's own words, need EU hosting, or want a free start: the free plan closed on 12 August 2026.

When to pick Demandbase

  • B2B advertising is your main ABM channel and you want ads, intent and account identification on one platform.
  • Marketing and sales will share one platform, since Demandbase doesn't sell them separately.
  • You want several predictive models: Demandbase says extra models "deploy in under 24 hours with no added fees".
  • Wrong choice if your budget is under Vendr's lowest Demandbase contract, $24,000 a year, or a renewal at "then-current rates" is a risk you can't take.

When neither fits

  • Intent topics inside a prospecting tool: Apollo Basic costs $49 per seat a month billed annually, with 6 intent topics and 100 identified website companies a month (Apollo).
  • Companies visiting your website: Leadfeeder has a free Lite plan and Discover from $79 a month billed annually in the US (€79 in Europe); intent filters start on Activate at $369 a month billed annually (€369 in Europe) (Leadfeeder).
  • Outreach on buying signals: Leo by Revexa watches signals such as hiring, funding and new leaders in the buyer role and drafts LinkedIn messages and emails that you approve by default; $99 a month in the US, €89 in Europe, 999 SEK in Sweden, excluding VAT, 7 days free (pricing). Wrong choice if you need advertising, website visitor identification, predictive scores or a contact database.

More options are in intent data providers compared.

GDPR and where the data is

  • 6sense. Its privacy policy, updated 24 August 2026, says data "may be transferred to and processed in the United States", under Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The platform "is built on AWS" (trust); we found no EU hosting option. 6sense "relies on legitimate interest" for business contact data, and the contacts "are not double opted in" (support). Its WebTag identifies companies, not people. For EU ads it expects "a lower volume of targeted results", with "some countries (such as Germany) remaining relatively sparse" (support).
  • Demandbase. Its sub-processor list puts AWS in "Ireland, USA", Google in "Germany, Singapore, USA" and Snowflake in the USA, and its DPA allows processing "in the United States and other locations" under Standard Contractual Clauses. Under its Master Subscription Agreement on AWS Marketplace, the customer is "solely responsible for obtaining the necessary clearances, consents and approvals from Visitors", and its tags set "a unique cookie ID" for each visitor, which under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive generally needs consent; see visitor identification in Europe.
  • Your own outreach. Contacting EU prospects needs your own lawful basis, usually legitimate interest under GDPR art. 6.1 f, and Germany's UWG §7 requires prior consent for advertising email. This is not legal advice.

Common questions

Is 6sense or Demandbase better for a mid-market team?

It depends on the main channel. 6sense fits sales-led teams with complex deals; it says it suits deals with "ACV above $50K". Demandbase fits teams where B2B advertising leads. With deals below that or a budget under about $25,000 a year, neither is likely to pay off (our judgement).

How much do 6sense and Demandbase cost?

Neither lists platform prices. Vendr's median is $62,220 a year for 6sense and $68,591 for Demandbase (February 2026). On AWS Marketplace, 6sense offers its core platform with 5 licenses for $100,000 over 24 months and Demandbase One for $215,000 for 12 months.

Does 6sense still have a free plan?

No. 6sense discontinued its free Sales Intelligence plan on 12 August 2026, and free accounts can no longer log in. Its site menu still said "Get Started for Free" on 16 October 2026.

Can I cancel 6sense or Demandbase early?

Not with a refund. Under 6sense's AWS terms, payments are non-cancelable and fees non-refundable. Demandbase fees are non-refundable, and contracts renew for 12 months at then-current rates unless you give notice 30 days before the end.

Do 6sense or Demandbase store data in the EU?

6sense says data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, and we found no EU hosting option. Demandbase lists AWS hosting in Ireland and the USA, and other sub-processors in Germany, Singapore and the USA.
