Best sales engagement platforms 2026: 12 compared by price
2026-10-20 · updated 2026-10-20 · 9 min read · Adam Axelsson, founder of Revexa
The best sales engagement platform depends on how many reps you have and which channels they use. Mixmax ($29 per user a month billed yearly, for 100 recipients), Smartlead ($32.50) and Instantly ($37.60) are the cheapest ways in for email; Apollo and Reply.io start at $49 per seat billed annually; HubSpot puts sequences on Sales Hub Professional at $90 per seat billed annually plus a $1,500 onboarding fee; and Salesforce sells Sales Engagement as a $50 per user add-on. Outreach and Salesloft publish no platform prices, and Vendr's buyer data puts their median contracts at $45,600 and $30,740 a year.
Checked on 20 October 2026 against each vendor's pricing page as a US visitor sees it, plus Vendr for the two without list prices. US dollars, excluding tax; where Europe sees a different price, we say so. Revexa builds Leo, one of the tools below: a buying-signal agent, listed separately as an alternative to a platform.
Order: the lowest monthly price a US buyer sees for the cheapest paid plan that runs sequences, any billing term. For Salesforce that is the add-on price, which needs a Sales Cloud licence on top. Free plans don't count, ties are alphabetical, and platforms without a list price come last.
What a sales engagement platform does
A sales engagement platform runs sequences (Salesloft and Salesforce call them cadences): timed series of emails, calls, LinkedIn steps and tasks that stop when the prospect replies, with tracking and CRM logging. The CRM is the record of accounts and deals; the engagement platform does the outreach. In 2026 the platforms differ less on sequences and more on AI: drafting emails, handling replies, researching accounts, summarizing calls and, at the top end, forecasting.

What to know about each platform
- Mixmax. You pay for recipients per user: each person added to a sequence counts once, and unused recipients don't roll over. It runs in Gmail and has an Outlook integration.
- Smartlead. Priced by sends and stored contacts, not seats or mailboxes: Base covers 2,000 contacts and 6,000 sends a month, and annual billing saves 17%.
- Instantly. Growth includes 5,000 emails a month and 1,000 uploaded contacts. The contact limit is not monthly: it counts every contact uploaded to your campaigns, whether active, paused or draft, and deleting leads frees space (help center). On 20 October 2026 repeated US visits to instantly.ai/pricing showed either this price list or a newer page ("Pricing new") with only bundles that include AI credits, from $85 a month ($76.50 billed yearly).
- Apollo. Basic includes 30,000 credits per seat a year on annual billing (2,500 a month on monthly). The Advanced Dialer, with parallel and power dialing, is a $119 per team add-on billed annually.
- Reply.io. Email Volume is priced by active contacts: unique contacts who get a first-step email in a month, with unlimited follow-ups. Jason AI costs $800 a month on monthly billing.
- Klenty. Starter lists "Approve Before Sending". Growth adds calling with 200 minutes, and a parallel and power dialer costs $45 per user extra.
- Salesforce. Salesforce's FAQ says Sales Engagement is included in Unlimited Edition and Agentforce 1 Sales Edition. Its currency converter lists €50 and £40.
- lemlist. At $55 the Email plan includes 50,000 emails a month; you choose the volume. lemlist says its data is stored on servers in France, hosted by OVH.
- HubSpot. Sequences allow 500 email sends per user a day on Professional. Starter has calling and the prospecting agent, but no sequences; on 20 October 2026 US visitors saw it at $7 per seat a month billed annually, against a $20 list price. From Sweden the page showed a different layout in euros, with Starter at €7 ("Limited-time · 65% off") and Professional at €90 per seat a month billed annually.
- Amplemarket. Startup includes 27,000 contacts; Duo Voice starts on Growth.
- Outreach. Priced by seats plus AI credits, from 10,000 credits (Amplify Essentials) to 100,000 (Amplify Pro). Outreach Voice US Standard costs $10 per user a month for 1,000 US and Canada minutes. See Outreach pricing.
- Salesloft. Merged with Clari (completed 3 December 2025) and has used one brand, Salesloft, since 2 September 2026; Clari Forecast keeps its name. Vendr's range runs from $5,152 to $146,494 a year. See Salesloft pricing and Outreach vs Salesloft.
Which platform for which team
Our judgement, from the prices and limits above:
- One founder, email only: Smartlead or Instantly; Mixmax if you write from Gmail. Our Instantly vs Smartlead comparison goes deeper.
- Small team, several channels: Apollo if you also need contact data, Reply.io for month-to-month billing, lemlist for servers in France, Klenty for a dialer.
- Already on a CRM: HubSpot Sales Hub Professional or Salesforce Sales Engagement, so activity stays in one system.
- Twenty reps or more, with an ops team: Outreach or Salesloft; Amplemarket sits between the self-serve tools and them.
An alternative to a platform: a buying-signal agent
A sales engagement platform runs the sequences you design for the people you choose. A buying-signal agent starts earlier: it decides who to contact and when. Leo by Revexa (ours) builds your ideal customer profile from your website, watches buying signals such as hiring, funding, headcount growth and new executives, finds the right person and drafts LinkedIn messages and emails in your voice. Review mode is the default: you read every draft and approve or skip it in the portal, in Slack or in iMessage, or switch on autonomous mode per channel. Price: $99 a month in the US, €89 in Europe and 999 SEK in Sweden, excluding VAT, with 7 days free and no lock-in (pricing). Wrong choice if: you need calls or SMS (Leo works on LinkedIn and email), or a sequencer for lists your team already has (our judgement).
Sales engagement platforms in Europe
From the vendors' own documents:
- Hosting. Outreach lets you "choose to host your data in North America or the EU" at sign-up (Outreach). HubSpot runs a European Union data center and assigns new paying customers a location "based on the geo-location of their IP address at sign up" (HubSpot). lemlist says its data sits on servers in France, hosted by OVH (lemlist).
- US processing. Apollo says the personal data it processes is "hosted in the United States" (Apollo), and Reply.io processes personal data "as a general rule" in the United States (DPA).
- Your own outreach. In the EU, cold B2B outreach usually rests on legitimate interest under GDPR art. 6.1 f, and Article 14 requires telling people where you got their data. Germany's UWG §7 requires prior consent for advertising email (cold email laws by country). This is not legal advice.
